Maharashtra exit polls 2024: Mahayuti Alliance leads, MVA struggles

The latest exit polls for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections show mixed projections, with a slight edge for the Mahayuti alliance (BJP, Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, and the Ajit Pawar faction of NCP) over the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance (Congress, NCP, and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena). The projections vary from a comfortable Mahayuti victory to a closer contest between the two major alliances:

Polling for the Maharashtra elections closed with a voter turnout of 58.43%, up from 61.74% in 2019. While Mahayuti is generally favored by most exit polls, MVA remains hopeful of defying predictions, with Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala expressing confidence that the MVA will form the government, despite the poll projections. Vote counting will take place on November 23.
